G-Mail Invites

Until further notice (ie, while stocks last), all customers purchasing comics can have a Gmail invite. Alternatively, if you want to bribe me, you can have one too.

Gmail is Googles innovative web-based email. It is currently still in beta stage, so it is not widely available to the public. This means that your desired email address is less likely to be taken, and your userid could be JoeBloggs rather then JoeBloggs457878545. Because it is web based, it means you won't lose it if you fall out with your Internest Service Provider.

You get 1000 MB of storage, and there are lots of funky features.

One and the same..?

If anyone spots these two in the same place, let me know! Until then, I will continue under the misapprehension that they are the same person.

Mom's Cancer - An online comic strip

This Website is home to a brilliantly executed ongoing account in comic-strip form of one family's experiences with Cancer. I urge you to read it.

**Update** This strip has now been completed. Where else can you read a superbly illustrated full length graphic novella for free? Go bookmark it now! It's great! Honest!

London Comic Festival 2004

Well, the London Comic Festival went well - Met loads of people, bought some comics, got some freebies, all in all it was a good day (despite one or two organisational hiccups).

Photos here, here and here.

Commercial Suicide sold out all initial stocks, though there are a few left to buy at the official website. Smaller American-format editions is on sale at www.lulu.com. If near-the-knuckle humour is your thing, a truly impressive range of talents make this purchase very much worth your while.

The Biannual Book of Wrong

Commercial Suicide 2.0 is on it's way!

COMMERCIAL SUICIDE 1.0, a 48-page compendium of wrongness, rocked the house at Bristol 2004, selling out before noon on the first day.

COMMERCIAL SUICIDE 2.0, over 100 pages of sick and twisted humour, will be launched at the London comics festival on October 23, 2004. Afterwards, the book will be available for purchase at the official website, and an American edition on Lulu.com. One of the 'highlights' will be 'Preggers: She's up the Duff and she's had enough!', written by columnist Rich Johnston, and drawn by me!

JUST ONE PAGE AUCTIONS BEGIN IN JULY

The Just 1 Page project collected art donations, from full strips to pin-up pages, into a seventy two page comic magazine. This is available to buy online, having been launched at the Bristol Comics Festival in May 2004.

All original art is to be auctioned via eBay.com for the Trinity Hospice Charity.
These auctions begin with a spectacular statuette by Jesse Farrell of Paul Grist's Jack Staff.
This will start on Sunday 1st August.

Other items to be auctioned will include contemporary artist's tributes to classic British characters - Steve Pugh's Billy The Cat, Charlie Adlard's James Bond, Gary Northfield's Rupert the Bear, and Hunt Emerson's Andy Capp. Also featured will be a specially donated copy of The Losers #1, with original script by Andy Diggle and thumbnail breakdowns by Jock. (My own Desperate Dan/Minnie the Minx sketch will be auctioned too - Dan)

Many more items will feature, representing a wide range of British artists and characters.
